At least 55 people have died from the cold,the country's lowest temperature was recorded 4.5 celsius which is very cold for that region.

Hospitals have been over crowded with people suffering from cols related illnesses such as the flu and pneumonia,it has been reported.

Those on low incomes are especially affected by the cold because they lack clothes,the weather service says the cold snap is likely to continue for a few more days.

But yeah, I guess.. the common cold, pneumonia, and the flu are likely to be more fatal in very poor regions without basic essentials like clothing & heat.

People die in India frequently when there is “severe cold wave conditions.” Most lowland places are still above freezing when this occurs.

4.5 C can be deadly if you don't have clothes and shelter adequate to 4.5 C.
Hard to imagine if you spent all your life in a place where -15 C is normal winter weather but in India people normally don't need any noticeable shelter from cold, so the poor ones likely don't own any.

A flat country like Bangladesh would have a hell of a windchill.
