Britain jails UK's most prolific rapist

A student from Indonesia was identified as Britains most prolific rapist on monday after being convicted of more than 136 rapes.

In four separate trials,Reynhard Sinaga,36,was found guilty of assaulting 48 men whom he drugged after taking them back to his apartment from outside bars and clubs in the city of Manchester.

The judge ruled Sinaga must serve at least 30 years in prison for 159 offences committed between january of 2015 and may of 2017,Sinaga was described as the most prolific rapist in British history.

Did the article specify whether he was ordered to wear a jumpsuit or lingerie while serving his sentence?

Maybe they can arrange it so....he can be cellmates with Bill Cosby!

Their cell could even be equipped with a well stocked bar, so this Anglo-Indonesian guy can continue with his mixology talents, and can serve his roommate drinks laced with knock out drugs, so this UK guy can ..give Bill a taste of his own medicine. :lol:

I would seek to find another word other than "prolific" to describe this person. I sense that this will make others who are of a similar disposition feel like they must match this guy.

"Prolific," to me, means something which is "prolific" in a positive sense. Like being a "prolific" author or a "prolific" composer.

It's a matter of connotation, rather than pure "meaning" in this case. A "shade on the meaning," so to speak.

I understand your point, but I have to question if the word "prolific" is the choice of the OP or if he is just repeating the same thing the author of the article used when writing for Reuters. You may want to email Reuters about that definition issue.

Email Reuters, I used the language used as close to "word for word" as possible.
I am sorry if this language is found offensive.

I would have sought a better choice of words, though.

It makes it seem like the rapist has "accomplished" something---to me.

I see your point,but if you watch shows on FBI profilers the word "prolific" is often used to describe serial killers.Prolific doesn't have to be positive,it can be negative in many contexts.

I however thought of none of this when copying the article, I just copied the article,so don't shoot the messenger.

No...I wasn't upset at Vermont at all---that wouldn't make sense.

I was merely a little peeved at the choice of words in the article.

Vermont didn't write it.

Only 30 years for 136 rapes?

That's a bigger concern to me than the word prolific.

That is a light sentence but I think in England life without parole is only for murderers.He would have most certainly gotten life in the US.

I actually have seen "prolific" used in negative contexts, prolific growth of bacteria in an agar agar culture, or pathogens, for example.

Good word to have used would have been 'notorious'.
