A Northamton man accused of trying to kill his daughter by poisoning her with drain cleaner in 2015 had his trial for attempted murder begin yesterday.
Northwestern assistant DA Linda Pisano told jurors that Christopher Conley had confessed to police he poisoned his daughter to end her suffering.
Mark Bluver the defense attorney said that his confession was false and that his daughter's injuries were the result of several rare medical conditions.
The girl was admitted to Yale New Haven hospital on april 15th 2015 with fever and pain around her cecostomy tube,the girl from Northamton had been receiving treatment in New Haven.After extreme pain the girl underwent 8 hours of surgery,and then additional surgeries.
The trial is expected to last 3 to 4 weeks.
