No laws are really effective--look at all the crimes--but for decency in society I think it's good to outlaw things that truly are wrong, and that is why I support the pro-life movement even if it is not going to be 100% effective. It will certainly do better than what we have today.
Better how?
I personally cannot see how I would benefit from being forced to endure pregnancy and give birth. When I am not interested in having children and would make a terrible parent. Also I can't afford the cost of pregnancy and giving birth nor am I willing to subject myself to the risks of it.
Why should someone else get to choose what I do in the case of pregnancy? I would terminate ASAP. The closest to pro-life I would get is I wouldn't oppose a reasonable limit on how late someone can have an abortion outside of medical necessity, since I understand there isn't an exact clearly defined cut off, but yeah not into forcing people to have babies against their will.
But whatever maybe leave it as a state thing...I will stay in states that allow abortion, and people who are against it can live in states where it's banned.
