Any item would self disinfect past 3 days(at least in terms of the SARS CoV2 virus), the exception being items in the freezer where other coronaviruses like SARS and MERS can live for up to 2 years.
True but there's no way to know when something has been handled.

There already was plenty of Lysol, isopropyl and hydrogen peroxide in the house before there were runs on the stuff.
