Pedophile injured in shootout with police

42 year old Enrique Gonzalez was injured and shot by state police as the fugitive task force attemped to serve a warrant for child pornography.

This happened yesterday morning outside the Express Inn on Riverdale st,said state police.

Troopers with the violent fugitive apprehension section and the special tactical operations unit assembled outside the hotel after tracking Gonzalez there.

Before troopers could move in on his room,they saw him leave his room and head for the parking lot,when troopers ordered him to stop,he fired at troopers.Troopers then fired back,striking and injuring him,no one else was injured,Gonzalez was rushed to Baystate medical center where he is under guard.

It is unclear what additional charges will be filled against him when he is arraigned,but I am guessing attempted murder of a police officer.

I guess that it would have been more fun if...Bill Cosby and Harvey Wienstein had resisted arrest by whipping out guns, and having a Hollywood style gunfight with the cops.

Too bad that most villians just ...give up peacefully.

This guy is pretty dumb,had he just been arrested,he would have been looking at 10 years.

Now he has an attempted murder charge,and a police officer at that.He not getting out of jail ever likely.

Springfield is rough,just two weeks ago a 68 year old cabbie was murdered,all probably for less than 200 dollars.

Send him up the river. One less perv.

Likely can't control there urges,so no punishment is any incentive.Does life in jail or death ever a deterrent to a murderer.Why does one walk in to a 711 or Cumberland farms and point a gun at the clerk,even though they know it's ten years in prison.They have a $400 a day heroin habit to support.

Being a drug dealer isn't a crime worthy of death or imprisonment.

Being a $#@& pedo sure is, though....

If you have ever seen -- up close and very personal -- what illegal drugs have done to formerly vibrant and promising individuals, you would not be making such a flippant statement.
