A Washington state man was arrested sunday after leading state troopers on a high speed chase with his dog in the driver's seat.

The man from Lakewood,WA,hit two cars on separate occasions and failed to stop both times, leading troopers on a high speed chase upwards of 100 miles an hour,no injuries reported.

He was driving so erratically that several people called 911 and when troopers cornered him they looked inside the car and saw a pit bull behind the wheel.

Eventually troopers used stop sticks (spikes that cause tires to slowly and safely deflate)and the pursuit was over, during the arrest the man gave the explanation,he was teaching his dog to drive.

He was charged with reckless endangerment, hit and run, driving under the influence and felony eluding, his bond was set at 8,500 dollars.

Mans best friend...

Oh that has cheered me up. Shows how drugs can alter a persons reasoning. I hope while he is in prison he can come completely off the drugs and have all his little issues corrected, so when he comes out he can have a totally fresh start and some happiness and joy! It was fortunate that no one was hurt, and that dog...! Not bad for a first attempt! Woof! Message to the dog. Start with a skateboard first...

Back in the early Seventies I heard about the cops pulling over a car that was "found to be being driven by a blind man".

The blind guy was being directed by another guy who told the cops that he was "too drunk to drive himself".

Sounds like this guy was using the same logic.

I am too drunk to drive myself so...I will teach my dog to drive for me!

Makes perfect sense to me! :D

That fool. He should have claimed the dog had kidnapped him.

Maybe while he's in prison he can get into one of those programs where inmates train service dogs for the disabled, maybe he could train dogs to drive for the blind
