Florida (finally) issues stay-at-home order

I can see the reactions now: “Ron DeSatan is an old fogey who doesn’t want anybody to have fun”. In any other circumstance, I would have agreed.

In the stay-at-home order it says:The order makes exceptions for buying food, medicine and gas, visiting doctors, outdoor exercise and commuting to jobs deemed essential.

Trust me, in California we did the same thing, and we saw the number of cases climb as if there was no stay-at-home-order.

I just posted on the other thread about how the country singer Kalie Shorr caught the virus. She went grocery shopping. And that was it.

For the isolation order to work, Florida needs to
(1) close all parks, including neighborhood parks,
(2) make it mandatory to wear a mask when going out, make it mandatory to use hand sanitizer before allowed to enter a grocery store.

Parks and grocery stores are the main places of infection. See, social distancing doesn't do a thing, when people don't pay attention to their fingers and their faces.

How is that going to happen considering the shortage of masks and hand sanitizer.

My wife has made and donated 73 cloth masks. She is now making more. I think we will do like the Czech people: just hang the masks around a pole in our neighborhood. Whoever wants one can grab one. Even Trump has said that a bandana or scarf would do. (In Czech Republic, they said the same thing). I only wear a cloth mask when I go out. In case I really need a mask in a hurry, I can make one from paper towel and painter's masking tape in a few seconds. I have repeated this message a million times, but I will repeat it one more time: the mask is there not to filter the air. It is there to prevent you from touching your own face. It also has the immediate benefit of introducing social distance.

Frankly, you can tear up an old T-shirt and use it, and you are good to go.

Did you see the news about the Japanese government giving two cloth masks to each household?

Also any kind of disinfectant/sanitizer/wipes works. As a doctor in NYC said in one of the videos I have attached: this virus is a wimp. It dies easily.

Ah, and one more thing: you don't necessarily need to kill the virus. You can dilute it. So even just wiping door handles with a wet towel is still a good idea. You wash the towel with a bit of soap. The fact is, your body can handle a small amount of virus. So even if you don't have disinfectant or sanitizer, brute force dilution is still a good idea. This virus is not like bacteria that can multiply in water. This virus doesn't multiply on its own in water.

Don't underestimate a "wimp." It may be more deadly than a big scary threat that you can see a mile away.

What kind of cracks me up is everything that you're supposed to do, I normally do from October to May. Except social distancing. That happens throughout the year.
