Can’t say I blame them. Who wants to drive headlong into the worst viral outbreak in the world?

Especially some states. First hand accounts from people who drive back from California a few weeks ago = Cali is on lockdown pretty good, Washington state is also doing pretty good, but Oregon appeared to be business as usual with shops and restaurants all full and people out everywhere like it’s no big deal.

If that’s what Southern states look like, or the 8 that still don’t have any statewide C-19 mitigation measures, I don’t blame truckers (or anyone) for avoiding those areas like the plague.

Canadian truckers must be timid.
Ours are still rolling. They are our heroes.
Maybe they will bring you some nice citrus produce from California,Texas or Florida.

My state is doing fine, we are well below the curve. Not that I believe you truly care.

If by “timid,” you mean “smart,” then I’d have to agree with you completely.

Who in their right mind would want to drive their rig right into the heart of the USA’s stupid Coronavirus party and not even have access to washroom facilities or soap and water?

Food is another issue, but at least that can be brought with them. I suppose they could also bring enough fresh water for drinking and hand washing.

But still, I get their point about entire regions not having access to washrooms, soap/water and food - especially in hard hit areas.

Why would American truckers opt to roll into those areas, either? If they don’t get their s**t together and at least provide the essentials of life and hygiene for truckers, these areas with the worst outbreaks are going to start having difficulty getting anything and everything delivered from medical supplies to groceries - just totally cut off from deliveries both foreign and domestic.

That should be provided.I would wager a guess that it would be very hard to keep a washroom sterile. It would need disinfectant after each person used it.
Some are getting more pay,as they should be.
Some people will do anything for money.Thinking of The Magic Christian.

What do you mean “no washroom facilities”? We have excellent truck stops in the United States.

I don’t mind it if you rag on Trump. But you seem to want to rile up Americans to get some kicks or something. It’s not working with me. I still love my country.

I don’t go around messing with Canada. I love Canada, too.

I didn’t fabricate the news, Kk. Read the article. Truckers are reporting that washroom facilities are closed and/or unavailable to them, making it ever more difficult to find a place to relieve themselves and wash their hands.

Many truck stops are still open.

In fact, they are seeking to hire thousands of new employees.

I can understand their reluctance to go into certain parts of the US because of COVID19.

Evidently not enough for long haul truckers to have adequate access to washrooms or they wouldn’t be complaining about it.

So many roadside restaurants everywhere are closed, too. I saw some footage in Poland or some place in Europe where people are leaving food and drinks alongside highways for truckers since the typical truck stops are closed. Pretty cool.

If I were driving long haul right now I’d simply pack food, water, soap, and toilet paper in my cab. Lysol wipes, too. And then just take a hike a short distance off the highway if truck stops are closed.

But there are many truck stops that are still open.

Lysol is advisable, though.

I’m not a trucker. You’re not a trucker. Truckers are saying not enough are open. I’ll take their word for it. Not enough is not enough.

I wonder if warm humid weather is already underway in the southern states will have a mitigating effect.

I’m hoping so.It was good and hot today. We are under our projected curve so far, more flu deaths than covid.

It’s like having a front row seat to the fall of Rome. Who can look away from the train wreck that is the trump administration?
