A woman walking with her boyfriend and his dog was fatally shot by a man yelling at them to pick up the dog’s poop, according to police.

The suspect, Michael Close, alledgely shot at the couple from inside his own apartment, aiming at them through the window.
The incident took place on Wednesday near Coors Field in Denver, Colororado.

The victim is 21-year-old Isabella Thallas, according to various social media posts and a GoFundMe page set up following the incident.

Personally, I try to limit my response to unhinged confrontation, demanding to see the poop bag .

Well, that seems a bit disproportionate...

Wow. Even I, who am the kind of person who realizes they’re out of bags as the dog does his business halfway through the walk, so they come home, get a bag, and go back out and find where their dog pooped and cleans it up, think that’s extremely excessive. About as excessive as excessive gets. A simple “please pick up after your dog, nobody wants to step in that or have their own dog try to eat it/roll in it” would suffice. Though it does make me a bit more paranoid than I already was that when someone else hasn’t cleaned up after their dog and my dog goes over to sniff it and then we leave, anyone seeing that who wasn’t paying close attention would probably think it was me who didn’t clean up after their dog, and they might come over and yell at me and I’d have no proof that my dog hadn’t done that (and I’m just about as excited to pick up old, cold poop from someone else’s dog as most people are - which is to say, not at all). Now I guess I can add “getting shot” to the list of “reasons I’m afraid of someone seeing me when my dog is sniffing another dog’s poop.”

reading the story the boyfriend was the one who made the puppy do its pooh on the lawn but there is no mention of whether he had bags?

either way the girl was totally innocent

House owners do get fed up when dog owners (I own a dog) allow their pooch to poo on their property. But in this instance the shooter was an apartment owner and the lawn was likely public property so his reasoning seems weird.

At Walmart other day we parked and when we got out noticed someone left trash in the spot we parked, didn’t think anything of it other then weird( some kind of powder and medical gloves?.) as we were leaving the people behind use watched us get put our groceries in our car then drive by and screamed and ranted at us thst we better pick up our trash and flipped us off as they drove by.
People that crazy could easily decided to shoot us. People have been stabbed to death over parking spots.
There’s lots of crazy people out there, some in my neighborhood. We won’t park near trash again. It was scary.

I feel sorry for the victim. Sadly any of us could run into crazy person like this and be killed at any time

Reminds me of a crazy mall guard at a shopping complex who threatened my elderly parents over a parking dispute.

Of course it might have had something to with my dad swearing the bejeezuz at some dumb broad who took the parking bay ahead of my old dad who was waiting patiently for like 5 minutes for the spot to be vacated one night before christmas eve.

The person who shot that woman will hopefully get “prison justice.”

It doesn’t mean everybody is nuts, though. The 1% nut jobs make it difficult for the 99% decent people.

The nut jobs feel more “enabled,” somehow.

They can use COVID as an “excuse.”

COVID has caused much justified discontent, and that should be addressed by therapists, friends, family, etc.

But no matter how you slice it, unprovoked violence against others must result in a severe response against the perpetrators—not excuse-making.

Yes it might be a extreme case of cabin fever...no doubt he shouldn't have had access to a gun either

I think a lot of people are and it’s scary,
Perhaps it’s just cause I’m submissive, anti violent and super anxious, but I don’t ever say anything if people taking my parking spot or my seat on bus or at work. Someone takes the last box of rice or something thst people fight over.
Or yell at a retail worker for ignoring me for someone else doe the 5th time and making me wait hour. Or fight over a price change. Maybe I’m just as normal.
