An 8-year-old girl and two adults were found dead on Monday afternoon in a swimming pool at a New Jersey home. In addition to the child, the other victims were identified as the girl’s 32-year-old mother and her 62-year-old uncle.

So my first thought was that a child was drowning and her relatives jumped in to save her and they also drowned. But there is something wrong with this narrative.

When emergency responders arrived, they found the three victims submerged in about 4ft of water in an above ground oval shape pool.

An 8 year old might drown in 4 feet of water but an adult! This doesn't make any sense. My wife is short, under 5 feet. I took a tape measure and had her stand up. 48 inches just reached her chin. All she would have to do is stand up in the pool if she was drowning and she would be safe. Most adults are taller than my wife. There is something missing in this story.

Sounds like murder, the adults were neutralized and then the children killed.

It's hard to drown yourself,so I don't see a murder suicide here.
There is a murderer out there.

I found another article. This showed the picture of the house and pool.

Image

It was posted earlier and identified the drowned man as the grandfather rather than the uncle. The family had moved into the home just 20 days ago.

The article also said:

While the cause of death is still under investigation, an electrician was at the scene Monday, Sutter said. "That's just to rule in or rule out the possibility of electrical currents," he said. "The investigation is still active and we're waiting for the autopsies."

The family may have been accidentally electrocuted. Water and electricity do not mix well.

[I will make a small retraction here. In reality the article was posted in the future at 2:18am Jun 24, 2020. So how does that happen. Today is 23 June. Well it was posted in Australia.]

Authorities had been investigating if Bharat Patel, 62, his 33-year old daughter-in-law, Nisha Patel, and her 8-year-old daughter had been electrocuted in the above-ground pool in East Brunswick, but ruled that out Tuesday afternoon.

Law-enforcement sources said the pool varied in depth, with a deep end or a section in the middle that was several feet.

Investigators have not determined how all three family members drowned, but were seeking to determine if they were not strong swimmers and panicked when reaching deeper water.

This came from a strange news site with strange headlines. For example this headline read NJ FAMILY OBSERVED USELESS IN POOL DIED FROM DROWNING

Here are some of their other headline titles:

Bharat and Nisha are names common to the country of India.

The average height of an Indian woman is 152.6 centimetres (5 feet), and that of a man 164.9 cm (5 feet 4.9 inches), according to a new research report from the Imperial College London.

So the deaths may have been due to the shortness of the individuals, the varying depth of the water in the pool, and the inability of the family members to learn how to swim.

According to Quora: What percentage of Indians can swim? Having lived in India for almost 2 years from 2016, I asked this very question numerous times. The best guestimate by the government is that less than 0.5% of the population, or just about 7 million out of 1.4 Billion, know how to swim adequately.

My dad had a pool like that -- same construction, colors, pump & filter combo, et cetera.

I helped him dig the "deep end" down to about 4 feet below ground level.  With the walls of the pool sticking up about 4 feet above ground level, that made the "deep end" about 7 feet deep.

So it is possible that multiple drownings did occur, especially if at least one of the victims was in a panic and wildly thrashing about.

That "Trading-U" site is obviously staffed by writers who were not brought up speaking the English language.

"National Anthem Controversy Finds Quickly-pitch Softball Team" is one of their headlines.

But the story seems to be a real story.

A similar affluent family in the ritzy part of Annapolis was murdered by a gang.

But they dont mention anything being stolen from the house. I was thinking that some gang had broken in and forcebly drowned everyone.

..."observed useless in pool"...seems a bit harsh.
