Rep. Vernon Jones introduced a Georgia Bill to make attacks on Trump supporters a hate crime.

"It's hate and it's got to stop," Jones told Fox News.

If it’s a physical assault, it’s a crime, anyway.

How about attacks on Trump detractors being a hate crime, too?

Trump supporters have polite disagreements with Dems, so not hate?

You might as well make any expression of disagreement a “hate crime.” This would lead to a fascist-type state.

Trump supporters are not a protected group—neither are Trump detractors.

I would never attack you for liking Trump. If I would physically attack you, I would deserve to go to jail.

A human being is beyond mere political affiliation.

Trump is a person who treads into dangerous territory when it comes to the Constitution. I have not committed a hate crime in stating this—unless I live in a fascist-like state.

All disagreements should be polite.

I should mention that I’m not a Democrat.

I'm not a fan of special handling of "hate crimes". I understand its intention is to decrease inter-group violence but the impression of special treatment may actually make the conflict worse.

Sure, there is hatred for Trump.  Certainly, crimes are being committed against Trump supporters.

But any necessity of labeling an attack on a Trump supporter as a "Hate Crime" just does not exist.

Come to think of it ... what would be considered an attack on a Trump supporter?  A few things come to mind:

• Being a person of "mixed race".
• Being Asian, Black, or an immigrant (legal or otherwise).
• Being employed in a traditionally "male" job while female.
• Being employed in a traditionally "white" job while a minority.
• Being gay and/or in a same-sex relationship.
• Being pro-choice and/or having an abortion.
• Displaying a Biden campaign sign.
• Earning a university degree.
• Expressing an opinion while female or a minority.
• Marching in a legal demonstration against a Fascist police state.
• Not attending a white Southern Baptist church.
• Registering as a Democrat.
• Using facts to refute a pro-Trump argument.
• Voting by mail.
• Voting for Biden.
• Wearing a tee-shirt that says "Black Lives Matter".

Yeah ... I could see how these could be perceived as attacks on devout Trump supporters.

Definitions of Hate Crime:

"A hate crime (also known as a bias-motivated crime or bias crime) is a prejudice-motivated crime which occurs when a perpetrator targets a victim because of their membership (or perceived membership) of a certain social group or race."

"A crime, typically one involving violence, that is motivated by prejudice on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, or other grounds."

The term Hate Crime would also apply to Trump supporters who attack the people who call themselves Liberal.

It does apply both ways.

I'm not anti-protest but protesters on both sides must be willing to risk "Hate Crime" charges if they attack someone they perceive to have different views. There's a lot of prejudice and stereotype involved, for both sides.

I'm not for hate crime statutes that make one person better than another, honestly this is not very conservative in philosophy and is hypocritical to the conservative philosophy. This is the type of bill I would expect from democrats, and Trump once again shows he is not really conservative and a phony in general.

So, for an act to be prosecuted as a "Hate Crime", two conditions must be met:

1) An act is defined as "criminal" under the law in which jurisdiction the alleged crime takes place.

2) The act must have been motivated by the alleged perpetrator's prejudicial beliefs regarding the alleged victim.

The prosecution is then burdened with three tasks:

1) Proving that an alleged act committed against the alleged victim is a crime under the law in which jurisdiction the act took place.

2) Proving that the alleged perpetrator of the crime committed the act.

3) Proving that the alleged perpetrator was motivated by his or her own prejudicial beliefs to commit the act.

Only the degree of the crime remains to be determined.  Again, the prosecution must prove one of the following:

1) First-Degree Crime: Intentional and Pre-Meditated.

2) Second Degree: Intentional, but not Pre-Meditated.

3) Third Degree: Neither Intentional nor Pre-Meditated; or an Act of Passive Neglect.

That's a lot of ground to cover.  Why not instead resort to and rely on Trial By Media, Mob Rule, and Vigilante Justice?

Does "hate crimes" also involve verbal abuse, or just physical abuse. I keep hearing from some folks that they're attacking people verbally just for not agreeing with them, insisting them to convert to their or else they're their enemies. In other words, either they're "with us or against us".

How about giving people rifles and leaving them to settle it for themselves? That would be even simpler! The whole costly judical system is unnecessary

The link says "A pro-Trump Democrat in Georgia is pushing for new legislation that would make it a hate crime to attack the president’s supporters – or anybody for political reasons."

It wouldn't surprise me though if the right/conservatives eventually resort to using woke like tactics to fight against this tide of insanity, which will likely make matters even worse. It's all terribly depressing.

I posted this list earlier, and I suspect that others would like to add more items to it:

I have noticed the same things, thus the list.
