Authorities in Kazakhstan are denying reports out of China of a new strain of pneumonia deadlier than Covid-19.

On thursday the Chinese embassy in Kazakhstan issued a warning to citizens living in the Caucuses nation the new pneumonia had killed 1,700 in Kazakhstan.

A statement on behalf of the Kazakh health dept. said, other agencies are conducting comparative research and have not defined the nature of the pneumonia virus.

The Kazakhstan health ministry acknowledged the presence of viral pneumonias of unspecified etiology ,but denied the outbreak was new or unknown.

The Chinese embassy said the outbreaks were concentrated in the regions of Atyrau,Aktobe and Shymkent.

Possible, anything could be possible because the testing has not concluded and it has not yet been seen as serious enough for WHO involvement.Or could be Chinese propaganda!

It could even be CoVID-19.

It could, but over the past 7 months doctor's come so familiar with CV symptoms and signs I'd doubt they would confuse CV for something else.

Keep in mind, CV19 has a variable presentation, so if it's presenting in a unique way here it might not be identified as such. Unique presentation could be due to a mutation but wouldn't have to be. I know Russia was alleged to have misreported CV19 deaths as pneumonia, so it's not as though similar intentional misidentification hasn't occurred in the region as well.

I'm mostly speculating since I would anticipate these patients being tested for CV19, but if they haven't been I'd still keep that on the suspects list even if only give it enough attention to dismiss it.

Unrelated, I'm proposing CARS-20 as a name, at least on here. Central Asian Respiratory Syndrome 2020; you know, before someone calls it Borat's cough.

We will have to see if WHO takes this serious and what they say.
If WHO doesn't step in in a month I would call this Chinese hoax.
