Judge orders evidence destroyed in Epstein case

Attorney's for Virginia Giuffre,who publicly accused Jeffrey Epstein of sex trafficking,must destroy files they obtained on Epstein after a wednesday ruling by a federal judge.

Epstein was arrested in july 2019 on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to sex traffic.Epstein is alleged to have procured women to have sex with high profile individuals,such as Prince Andrew.

Epstein culled from a 2015 civil suit filed against Epstein by Guiffre,allegedly contained names of people who Epstein had conducted business.

Federal Judge Loretta Preska that Guiffre's lawyers had come into possession of the documents improperly,noting that the protective order could only be enforced during the civil lawsuit proceedings which had already been settled.Preska wrote wrote that all materials in the files shall be destroyed.

Also demanding proof of the documents destruction with an acompanying affidavit.

The ruling came after a request by attorney Alan Dershowitz to gain access to the documents,Dershowitz defended Epstein during his 2019 trial.Guiffre claimed Dershowitz was one of the men Epstein forced her to have sex with,Dershowitz sued Guiffre for defamation in 2019.Dershowitz claimed that obtaining the files would be an asset to his case.

Preska said in her ruling that Dershowitz's desire to see all the documents with over 1,000 entries was a carpet bombing.

Upon returning from France in 2019 Epstein was arrested and indictment documents alleged that Epstein had sexually exploited and abused dozens of minor girls at his New York home,and Florida home as well.Guiffre alleged she engaged in sex with Prince Andrew while she was 17 years old at Epstein's behest.

I personally find a bizarre any Judge would order evidence destroyed,I can see the court confiscating the evidence to court entrustmentship but to "destroy" evidence.I have never heard of a Judge destroying or ordering the destruction of evidence.Usually a person is out of jail on there drug conviction before the drugs they were busted with are incinerated by officials of the jurisdiction working with the sanitation department.Most hard forensic evidence is kept forever.

Yeah, that seems a very... peculiar decision.

So I take it Prince Andrew isn’t going to be extradited to the US after all?
