Pretty fair representation of what’s happened across the country and how it contrasts with the American approach. Quite the stark differences in leadership styles mostly.

And almost all of our deaths have been in Quebec and Ontario where it’s Moreno densely populated and they screwed up early on. We’ve had 177 deaths out of just over 5 Million people in BC.

Maybe Americans should start tuning in to Canadian news for coronavirus info? Not even joking. I watch way more American news than Canadian (our scandals aren’t as entertaining, just basic run of the mill graft.) so I’m sure Americans could tune into online broadcasts of Canadian news & coronavirus updates just the same. Couldn’t possibly hurt & might actually help disseminate more fact & science based info to help people figure out what they should be doing to actually slow the spread.

New York has “crushed the curve” as well after a most inauspicious beginning.

I watched quite a bit of Andrew Cuomo online. He def knows how to communicate all of the basics that people need to know to mitigate this crap. People all across the country would be better served paying attention to him instead of the orange guy or almost any republican governor.

The problem is that there are people, mostly in the Southern states, who think trusting science = questioning God, or that they are ok with the virus, since people of color get infected at higher rates than whites.

Yes, those people are a problem.

But there are more problem groups. Like any of the maga cult members that believe anything trump tells them - and he told them a lot of lies about the virus.

And then the lies people believed from pence. And the ones told by many republican governors. And the ones told by Fox News hosts and other right wing conspiracy theorists.

There are far too many liars combined with far too many strangely trusting & believing people who’ve followed their comically bad advice to their own detriment.

And because there are so many of these various types, it’s rubbed off on otherwise sane & rationally behaving people and they’re like “You know what? f**k it. No masks, back to work and life and just let ‘er rip and if people die people die, f**k it, it must be their time to go.”

..which further complicates trying to get this s**t show under control now. Idiots & morons have caused a bunch of normal people to stop caring.

Yep. They’ve been taught not to trust their government or authority figures.. and not just to question them, but to tell them to F off and mind their own business lol that’s working out pretty awesome right now.

Really? Meh. I’m not a fan of beards in general. Pretty sure he grew it so he’d look older and more “distinguished,” so people would take him more seriously vs treat him like a child.
