RIP Joanna Cole 1944-2020

Joanna Cole, the author and creator of the Magic School Bus series, passed away on July 12 at the age of 75 due to complications of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. I find this news very sad because the Magic School Bus was my childhood. I grew up watching the tv series and I have read all the books. I have a whole collection of Magic School Bus toys and memorabilia. Joanna Cole had a huge impact on my life. I'm such a huge fan of the series that I've become a fan and friend of Lily Tomlin who voiced Ms. Frizzle. I've met Lily Tomlin 10 times and continue to stay in touch with her. Joanna Cole and her collaborator and illustrator of the Magic School Bus, Bruce Degen, just recently completed a new Magic School Bus book about human evolution that is scheduled to be released next spring.

I hope she didn’t pass away in pain.

Have you ever seen Lily Tomlin on “Laugh-in” from the 1960s?

I was not born when "Laugh-In" was on, but I have seen clips of Lily Tomlin on that show on YouTube. I am familiar with her characters Ernestine the telephone operator and Edith Ann the 6 year old in a big rocking chair.
