Teenagers are disguising themselves as elderly grandmas in coronavirus face masks as a way to buy alcohol without showing ID.
If you wear a mask they can’t see ur whole face lol,” one adolescent posted to her under-legal-age brethren.'

Do you blame it on your artificial hip or the alcohol?

If you're too young to remember those "I have fallen down I cant get up" commercials, or too young to know what kind of animal "ate my baby", then ...you dont get service in MY liquor store!

In many states, that wouldn't work because they are tequired by law to card everyone -- even if you look 90!

I got carded in Malwart and didn’t have my ID, they wouldn’t let me have a bottle of wine. This was frustrating since I could buy liquor without being carded when I was 14.

But Veg is right. Nowadays they usually card you. So these fake "grannies" wouldnt get away with it most places even with medical masks.

I was without Id one time years ago when trying to buy beer. So the clerk made me wait for the boss, and the boss saw gray hair at my temples, and quickly muttered ok to the clerk- before vanishing again.

However a crazy alcholic friend (from a crazy alcoholic family) told me that he used to play hooky from grade school, and go to bars and buy beers when he was like ten back in the Sixties. I was incredulous that drinking spots were so lax that they would serve beer to grade school age kids during my lifetime, but I guess it must have been true of them back then. No reason for him to make up a story like that.

We skipped school and bought beer and cigs from the 7-11 back in the day, then some weed or hash from a dealer that hung out around the school ,then off to a cafe for cheeseburgers to go ,then under the railroad bridge or an abandoned house to enjoy.
I failed that year from lack of attendance.I was such a slacker that year.
All at historic Central High.

Well...I was an aspie who bascially didnt have friends until I was college aged. So I didnt get involved with that sorta stuff. Though I did get high with some friends before class once or twice while on high school campus though. But My buddy says he drank in bars (during day time school hours) while he was in the single digit ages (9 or 10 I assume) or not much above. Long before he went to high school. They didnt bust the bars for serving him, and they didnt bust him for truancy, nor for underage drinking. And this was in a big city. Amazing. He says "if you had the money they would serve you drinks". 8O

When I was a teen there were always adults who would do a packie(a trip the the package store ie.. liquor) for a small fee.

It was easy in those days, today the penalty for buying for minors is so strong, people don't do that as much these days.

First time I got drunk was off Crazy Horse malt liquor I got at a local flop house.

The stoners were a forgiving group, we bonded over music. If I acted odd, it was attributed to being stoned. There were latchkey kids ,so in the summer or after school we went to a house with no parental supervision, smoked weed, watched MTV, or played D&D.Good Times.
It wasn’t that hard to find a liquor store that would sell to minors, having enough money was more of a problem.A six pack doesn’t go far with four or five people.Neither does 1/4 or a pack of smokes.
