I've seen stories of people dealing with false DMCA claims and takedowns. I would rather the government shut down forever rather than people go to jail over this stuff. I'm tired of corporate shills in our government.

Yeah, we really don't need a trump FCC chair appointee.

So many companies and users afraid that people won't buy their work just because they saw a clip of it in a video or saw someone playing it? lmao. This is actually free advertising for them and this does not prevent them from making sales.
If I look at a video preview of a game I saw in the eshop, if I don't buy it, I wasn't going to buy it anyway. It could be because it costs too much, I don't have that money right now, I am unsure of it, I didn't like the game based on the preview. If someone doesn't see what the game is like, they were not going to buy it anyway.
I also doubt that negative reviews about a game is going to prevent sales, I don't care what people think of a game. I am not going to not buy it just because someone said it was bad. That is just their opinion. If I don't buy it, it just wasn't my type of game or it looked boring or I didn't want to pay the price. Some people like to trash any games out there because they do it for an audience or for humor and make jokes and some will purposely play a game just to trash it with their negative comments.
Nintendo is known for abusing the DMCA and copyrights law despite that they still make tons of sales despite people uploading their game play on youtube they had on Twitch.

Nintendo DMCAs are the worst. I hate it when they DMCA people who upload soundtracks from their games while not actually providing a way to listen to them themselves. I also wish they would just hire the people who make excellent fanmade games of their IPs instead of sending cease and desist letters. Sonic Mania is an example of the success between Sega and someone who made a couple Sonic fangames. Now Scott Cawthon is doing his own reaching out to the Fnaf fangame community to bring more life and success to Fnaf fangames.

Isn't buying the game the way to listen to the soundtrack?
Your wish seems incredibly unrealistic. Most people who bother to apply to jobs don't get hired, yet you wish that someone who didn't apply and possibly infringed copyright should be hired?
Honestly I don't quite understand what your problem is with the proposed law. You seem worried about false reports of copyright infringement, but false accusations don't necessarily lead to convictions, and the possibility of false accusations isn't enough of a reason to avoid creating a law. And you don't seem to care whether people actually do violate copyright law in their online videos and streams. So what exactly is wrong with this proposition?

1. Some people really just want to listen to the music WITHOUT the gameplay. Listen to it on the go. I listen to game music when I pace around the room. Can't buy the game or play it, but love the music? That too.
2. Did you seriously ignore the part where I mentioned how Sonic Mania got made?
3. Watch the videos. There are too many variables about how things could go wrong and this bill could destroy websites and the lives of Gamers, livestreamers, and content creators. This is not a black and white issue. These commentators do bring up some grey areas. Copyright Infringement is a civil issue, not a federal one.

Despite #StopDMCA, our corrupt congress pushed this through and it's now headed for the president's desk.

Well if companies don't want people listening to their gaming music on youtube, maybe they should release their gaming score albums.
People don't pirate or put copyright content online so people can save money and get it for free, people also pirate and go for stolen content because there is no option for them to listen to game music if there is no album for it or no digital release for it. That solves the pirating and copyright infringement problem. These people are willing to pay for it if they had that option.
Google is also getting rid of Google Music and saying go with youtube music except youtube wants your money to listen to your songs. Google Play didn't make you pay to have you listen to your songs, you only bought the song once and you stored it in google music to listen to it for free any time. Now people will go back to pirating music now because they don't want to pay a fee to have to listen to their bought songs. We don't pay to play our CDs in our car or stereo or on our computer unless you count electricity.
I also thought phones allowed us to store our media files so we can play our music on it and listen to it like it's an ipod. I guess that had changed. I hadn't listened to music on my phone in ages because that card I had kept corrupting and I replaced the card and I never bothered transferring the songs to my new card due to space. But those songs are still on my PSP on the different card.
