This would certainly be Australia’s right.

Backpackers did the same thing when the pandemic first hit.
Selfish bloody kids.

People's businesses are dying because of the lockdowns that they cause.
They don't care about the damage done to the Australian economy, since this isn't their country.

There is some talk about a new strain of the virus that attacks younger people.
The kids my take *that* more seriously, if it becomes common.

Kids. :eew:

I've wondered in the past why backpackers have been complained about, since when I think of backpackers, the image of two or three people hiking out in the wilderness comes to mind. Now I see what the problem is.

Are they tourists? Seems to imply they're foreign tourists, if so then yes, deport them.

Hate to say it but the UK has quickly become one of those countries you do not want visitors from during covid. At the risk of offending the rest of the site - America is the other one.

Imo travel and transportation should be limited at the moment to freight trains, freight planes etc. No tourism. No travel. Unless you live in a country where they've successfully dealt with the virus - and then only between similar countries or within your own.

That we know of.
In Los Angeles, when everyone was focusing on sick people who’d been on cruises, a family requested a member to be exhumed, who had died after (apparently) becoming ill after coming home from a cruise.
Positive for Coronavirus!
As it was known then.
No one knows how many lost their lives to it who were mis-diagnosed.

My 'gut' tells me it is a scare tactic, but I will be dancing the street if they actually send the ratbags back.

Australia is one of the best-managed countries in the world, largely because we are an island continent.
The reason we are in this mess, however, is because someone from overseas didn't do what they were supposed to do and didn't self-isolate for 14 days.

Gladys says the protocols were in place but weren't adhered to.
Gladys, how old are you?
Were you born yesterday?
Don't you know you can trust people to do the right thing?

Before the virus was known mainstream, I am sure I caught it.
It was the worse "flu" I have ever had.
I never want to go through that again.

If you were wondering, yes, I survived.

I think I got it from an item I received from China*.
I disinfect *everything* these days. 8)
