In case it might have slipped your notice.

On Dec 21st 2020 the earth entered the "Age of Aquarius"

In honour of this most momentous event in human history I invoke the appropriate ritual to bless everyone on WP with prosperity, wealth and good fortune

Well...it's about friggin' TIME!

That song, and the rock musical broadway show "Hair" , from which it came, both came out in circa 1967.

So I've been holding my breath for this dawning for the last 53 years! :lol:

“Aquarius,” by the Fifth Dimension came out in 1969.

“Hair” came out in 1967, and had the song “Aquarius” in it, not sung by the Fifth Dimension.

The Fifth Dimension did “Up, Up and Away” in 1967.

I know. I didnt say that the Fifth Dimension did the song IN the play.

Obviously the cast of Hair sang the original, and the Fifth Dimension covered it- sometime later. That it was two years later makes no difference to the point I made. The song was from that late Sixties Haight-Ashbury era. A fine rendition of a fine song. Still sounds good....but it was a little premature to announce the coming of the new age back then- if Cyber is right! :lol:

Of course ...fifty years isnt much when you realize that each "age" of the Zodiac is 2150 years long.

The start date seems to be disputable, but since Trump DIDN'T GET REELECTED I'll take this as the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius. I'll work a new refrain to replace "Peace, Love, Woodstock" for this new social awakening. How about "Peace, Sustainability, Diversity" 8).

We certainly need to counteract the present currents...

The 60s rebelled against the abject boredom of the 50s. We would be able rebelling against currents much worse than most of the 50s (though the racial crap was much worse in the 50s).

Sorry for the digression.

“Up Up and Away” was the first song in my life where I understood the lyrics. I was 6 years old, about 9 months away from severe autism.

Ah, I remember reading a book about Nostradamus in the 90's that had a part that dealt with the age of Aquarius and how it will not be some kind of star trek/new age utopia.
