Oh excuse me I was just jamming to some music.....disco music.

But wooo hooo Biden is the president no more Trump....Go Biden! Does anyone else feel good about this victory against traitor trump? I mean it was us the americans who beat him to put a proper president in his place and that is something to take pride in...well unless you played no part in electing him and instead called for insurrection....but all those will get caught so whatever.

Oh God no! Not disco! I hated that “music” when it came out in the 1970s. It needs to remain buried in the dustbin of time. That is an embarrassment to be able to remember that time period.

Now if you were talking 1980s-1990s rock music, that would be much better to celebrate with.

Hey, whatever makes her happy!  Personally, I "jam" to Big Band music -- Dorsey Brothers, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington, et cetera.  I used to do a mean jitterbug that would wow the bejeebers outta ya!

I like Disco. Kind of early pop. A lot of it has really funky guitar and bass guitar, some well arranged horn sections.

Disco is still a bit part of the evolution of modern music and disco influences so many other different genres, including hip hop, funky house (UK funky), house music etc.

As a former bass player, and now as a guitar player (as well as DIY EDM producer), I can't help but stick up for Disco.
Disco, for the most part, is simply funk that uses drum machines and synths to get a lot of their sounds.

Anyway.... I digress!

Sure re President Biden! I am really pleased that the Democrats have taken over, as the Democrats are more on the side of humanity and the poorer people. The socialist influenced ended side of the parties.

I think President Biden will be good, and will hopefully pick up the pieces that the Republicans have left in the wake of Trump.

If President Biden even is able to get free medical care for all US citizens, then he will have done a good job.
I hope he does for everyone's sake, as well as sort out homelessness. As it is an absolute scandal that there are people living on the street in a country that is so fiscal and resources rich, as well as technologically advanced.

I also like the fact I don't have to wear sunglasses when I watch the new president on TV.
I also hope that he manages to legalise cannabis in all states, and perhaps even decriminalise the other drugs, and set up education/support/rehab for all other drug users, so that people can finally be treated like humans, rather than evil criminals. - rehabilitation will help save more lives and reduce the crime rate across the board.

So lets hope!...

When I think of "early pop music," I think more of Tin Pan Alley than of disco.

I like rock music to, and metal quite a lot....but there is just so much more than that, there is probably at least one song in every genre I'd like. But I can understand the unbearableness of music you just simply don't like, it can be terrible....especially if you're tripping on a psychedelic drug(personal experience).

Seems like a genre with a lot to enjoy, for sure...granted it has been a rather recent discovery for me even though its not exactly a new genre.

But yes I am hopeful, though with some caution...the democrats have failed before, but seems the party has gone more progressive and there is less of that Tipper Gore attitude. So I am hoping that is for real. Just so used to trumps presidential twitter rants and alternate reality he promoted, its hard to believe that its over now.

Gosh. I havent heard that song in more than fifty years. And when it was current (on radio that my parents would listen to) in the early Sixties- the song was celebrating music from fifty years before THAT!

Nothing wrong with liking it. Just surprised to hear someone bring that song up. :)

I listened to a range of music throughout the inauguration, mostly themed around change.

"Alexander's Ragtime Band" was Irving Berlin's first hit. It was written in 1911.

Hooray! I for one am ready for a return to sanity. Comedians are going to take a hit, for sure, but I'll take a boring Presidency over the "excitement" of the last four years.

I feel neutral about the whole thing. I'm listening to The British Invasion so I will feel something.
