I can't see why it isn't a possibility.

Me too, like out of ALL areas of the giant China and out of all places in the world, yet it happens to emerge from the very same city that it has a such lab? And it was confirmed that patient zero wasn't in the wet market. Too much of a coincidence that boggles the mind. My bet that it was an accidental leak.

When I heard about these speculations, it seemed an accidental leak was the most likely theory, rather than a deliberate release, if it was a man-made biological weapon.

But I am keeping an open mind.
I don't jump to conclusions.
I embrace hypotheticals.
It's my thang. 8)

Us laypersons have to rely on what the dueling experts say. But yes it does look disturbing.

If it turns out to be true that this was an accidently leaked man made virus then think of the many implications.

What escaped was some unfinished version of something they were working on in a lab. Like some prototype car Elon Musk's engineers created before they finally perfected the Tesla that we now see on showroom floors.

So what was the final product, the showroom version of this virus, supposed to be?

Presumably it was for the purpose of germ warfare. A military alternative to poison gas and nukes as a weapon of mass destruction.

What escaped into the world is something that is deadly, but hard to control. So it wouldnt be of much use to any country militarily. It spreads fast, and hurts your enemy, but it ravages your own country as well. So I guess they were shooting for something as deadly as this, but that is also somehow more controllable by the country (china) that deploys it. Hard to imagine a virus that "knows" not to cross boundries back into the country that deployed it. But I guess thats what they were trying to create.

While we are on the subject: I just noticed on that list of "related topics" something entitled "China is ready to genetically design humans" from 2016.

Having an ultra deadly infection virus, might be the go.
Drop it in the middle of a competing country and close your own borders.
It could race through the other country like wildfire and burn itself out in a short amount of time.
Ideally, its resting longevity would be short, also, making it safe to invade the country with impunity. 8)

Next time, I hope "we" have learned to shut the borders extremely quickly, until the deadliness is determined.

Maybe it wasn't a research for military uses.

Now in theory, you can 'control' the virus if you develop its killer with it, a cure or a 100% effective vaccine.

But viruses mutate in unpredictable ways so it does sound like insanity.

Yep all roads lead to Rome

Every lead goes back to a story of a biolab in Wuhan leaking the virus into the public

The former has been rejected by the scientific community

The latter is a political statement made by the (now extinct) Trump administration.

SARS leaked from lab in China before .....TWICE!. What's so unbelievable about that it may have happened third time?

Not everything in the Trump era must be necessarily wrong or fabricated.

And those same WHO scientists have been advising people against the usage of masks(except health workers) for months before admitting their mistake.
