A man in England was recently stopped by police after he drove over 100 miles from his hometown, breaking coronavirus protocols. While the driver claimed he was simply heading to McDonald’s — and therefore purchasing food — there was another major issue with his excuse.

To make the story even stranger, the driver had originated from the town of Luton, which is located over 100 miles away, having apparently driven for over two hours to get to McDonald’s in a town that didn’t have one.

How about "My horoscope told me that great things would come my way if only I would go out and find them."?

It would be most likely be to aleviate stress.
Question. If one drives to a different place and keeps to things like a drive through, and does not go out to meet other people, how will it spread the virus if one has it?

Inother words, as long as one does not touch things that other people will touch and stays away from others it is not a risk. It is FAR more of a risk sending children to a secondary (Or high) school which have large catchment areas then anything else. Some schools here in Wales have pupils travelling 50 or more miles crammed into school busses where not everyone can find a seat and many are three to a seat and this is diruing these lockdowns. What is the use of socially isolating when in the schools when on the journey they can't socially isolate. Some school children have 2 hours of bus trips each way to get to school and these busses quite often cross county boundaries.

I have personally found only two or three local shops I can manage and the ones I do find I am ok with happen to be in a village some 50 miles away. It is due to what I call "Covid anxiety" though I found some larger supermarkets were no go areas for me before covid. But since covid I face a major shutdown risk dueto the shops one way systems where I can get hemmed into a queue and not be able to back out. (I used to cope with shops by waiting for the queue to go down before I could go to a till so I would not be hemmed in. Since covid one way systems I can't hang back in most shops so I risk getting a shutdown, hence why I have to travel much further to buy certain goods because I can't face the local shops and their covid store layout).

There's so many stupid ones.

I had to mute the word 'pubs' on twitter cos people who didn't work in the hospitality industry/have relatives who did were moaning about not being able to go to the pub every Friday night

Meanwhile I was shielding with family, not able to see other family members. Mum had to make sure her hospital treatment continued. Not everyone's treatment is continuing. :( There were pictures going around of a little girl who was shielding & couldn't see her dad during it :( She had leukemia.

People need to learn some self awareness in this stuff!

People need to learn to find affirmation in themselves, and not from surrounding themselves with other people.

Fear causes those whose emotional needs are triggered to reach out to those who mean the most to them.
A natural emotional/psychological response.
Unfortunately, so many, many people are proving to have had the virus and been asymptomatic, and did not realize that they were jeopardizing those who they love and need the most.

Wasn't there a guy in France, who at one point wrote on a form that he was stepping out to smash a guy's head in? That's incredible.

Couldn't he have just said, "I was going crazy being housebound so I decided to just drive around in my car siill being quarantined since I don't intend to ever get out of this car."

When we all had to be quarantined here in the state of Oregon and had curfews. I was going to the store a lot more often because this was the only entertainment I had. It was essential so I had an excuse at least to leave my house and go to a department store two miles down the road. Anything that sells food was considered essential, same as home appliances since stuff breaks in homes and wears out.

Boy did I learn how humans often need to do stuff out of the house and how crazy we all would go if we were forced to stay home. Choosing to be housebound is different than being given a curfew by the gov and being told to stay home or get a fine.

Now with less restrictions now, I have been going to the store a lot less. Everyone wears masks now so everything is open again but we all have to stand six feet apart and some stores limit customers.

I know a family that was fined $1000 for driving around with their children, not intending to get out of the car.

Where I am, all joggers and bicyclists are maskless.
Which means that those who breathe the deepest are exhaling deeply as they pass me on the sidewalks.
