Where are we with COVID?

I don’t go out of my way to see what is being said about when the pandemic will be over very often but I did today and it wasn’t pretty. These two articles are the most pessimistic I’ve seen in a while.

Idk what to make of that. I’m sure there’s still some optimistic people out there who would think that what’s said in those articles is nonsense, but there is COVID variants and stuff.

I feel like I have a lot of questions to ask, I just don’t know what they are. I f***ing hate the idea of restrictions and even mask requirements being in place for any longer than the end of this year. I’m gonna have an existential crisis if that happens.

Hang in there. Vaccines are now being distributed and we have better management of the response. There are hiccups and I am also concerned about the variants, but things are going to change.

“Even vaccinated people can still get the virus”

“Life won’t return to normal until 2028”

Damnit, so much confusion......

The calculations & timelines are based on current rates of vaccinations. Rates will increase and timelines will shorten.

And in the future we won't have such long periods of time to ramp up vaccine production and distribution when needed during a pandemic. More vaccine production facilities are being built around the world Right Now including one here locally that's intended to help insure against this in the future.
