Abortion, insulting the right-wing president...what do they *not* want to be illegal in Poland (Europe’s Alabama)?

Poland seems to be going back to the days of Do Not Insult Glorious Head Of Ruling Party Or Else.

I'm certain Trump would have loved having that law in America.

"Let's increase legal penalties for protesting! That'll definitely address the root of the problem, and not add to the protest-crackdown feedback loop!"
Do they want to make their citizens hate the police? It's like they're trying to act more like the US. I can't imagine that going over well.

Insult = anything short of worshipping the leader like a god/supreme being.

This is what Poland and many other countries need right now:

Kentucky passed a bill making it a crime to insult law enforcement.

I loved how he would take it so personally when a journalist asked him a probing question

Yeah he'd approve a bill like that without question.

Of course. The Left want to censor the Right, the Right want to censor the Left and the Center want to censor the extremes. You can see it as a simple power struggle over defining what's appropriate and what's not.

The left outside of the old soviet union or China aren't old school Maoists, Leninists or Stalinists.

I can't think of one single thing a leftist would want to censor that isn't vilification

One wouldn't expect anything different from a thin skinned, narcissistic, would-be-autocrat.

I've heard that. It would seem like something that could be abused in order to arrest and hold someone when there isn't legitimate evidence of a crime.

President Duda is the head of a political party that is somewhat "rightist" in some aspects----but somewhat "leftist" in others.

For example, Duda is for banning gay marriage through a law; and he wants to ban gay people from adopting children. But he's also into state intervention into the economy.
