Fall River couple charged with second degree murder in starvation death of an autistic teen

The Fall River couple accused of the starvation death of the man’s autistic teenage son and abusing the boy’s siblings have been indicted on second-degree murder.
A grand jury handed up the indictment on Friday for John Almond, 33, and Jacyln Marie Coleman, 26, with one count each of second-degree murder.
The Bristol County District Attorney's office in a press release indicated the pair have also been charged with neglect of a disabled person, resulting in serious bodily injury. Coleman was also indicted on a charge of withholding evidence from an official related to the allegation Coleman attempted to destroy a cell phone during an interview with Fall River Police.
Almond and Coleman have been held without bail since their arrest last October
here they found 14-year-old David Almond, one in a set of triplet brothers who all have autism, emaciated and unresponsive by emergency workers after a 911 call was made from an apartment. He was later pronounced dead at Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Rescuers also found David’s triplet brother, Michael Almond in emaciated condition.
Reports indicated the brothers were wearing feces soiled adult diapers and were covered in fecal matter.
Police reported hundreds of empty glassine baggies used to transport drugs were found in the apartment.
The boys’ 3-year-old stepbrother was also taken from the home and brought to Charlton Memorial Hospital.
Medical personnel reported to police both boys tested positive for fentanyl, a potent a synthetic opioid often used by addicts as a substitute for heroin.

If this report is accurate, the mother gave birth at approximately age 12!
