President Biden’s two German shepherds have been moved out of the White House after one of them showed some ruff behavior, reports said Monday.

First dogs Major and Champ were sent back to the Biden family home in Wilmington, Delaware last week, CNN and TMZ reported.

Major, who made history as the first rescue dog in the Executive Mansion, is said to have bitten a member of White House security, according to the reports. The 3-year-old pooch has also reportedly been barking and lunging at staff and security.

I wouldn't say cancelled. But they are in the dog house.

One was sent back the the Bidens' Delaware home for biting (?) a White House staff member, and the other went along to keep the first one company.

It's probably best, I know myself, I don't like big dogs who jump and loud barking hurts my ears.

You're right. It's quite refreshing.

A real shame. The White House was a zoo under Calvin Coolidge and Theodore Roosevelt.

I imagine visiting heads of state wouldn't appreciate stepping over dogpoo so perhaps it's for the best.

Those kinds of dogs are horrible & one of the reasons for my phobia.

One of them bit: my stepdad, my mum's dead dog (while she was alive) and my mum's current dog.

After taking the humans to court we got an apology for biting a human... but what about the other dogs...

President Biden’s dog Major on Monday afternoon bit another employee, who then required medical attention. The encounter took place on the White House South Lawn Monday. CNN first reported the bite, adding that the employee worked for the National Park Service.

Monday’s incident was the second time Major, a three-year-old German Shepherd, bit someone at the White House in less than a month. On March 8, Major sunk his teeth into a Secret Service employee, who also required attention from the White House medical unit. Psaki referred to that incident as "minor."

So was this just a nip or something more serious. My rule of thumb is did the bite break the skin. If my dog bites someone and this results in bleeding, I take that very seriously. According to the Internet:

Although you can provide first aid for a dog bite at home, it's very important to see a doctor, especially if an unfamiliar dog bit you, the bite is deep, you can't stop the bleeding, or there are any signs of infection (redness, swelling, warmth, pus). Dog bites can cause infections that need to be treated with antibiotics. People with diabetes, liver disease, illnesses that suppress the immune system, and other health conditions may be at greater risk for a more severe infection.

And according to CDC, dogs can spread the coronavirus. Thus a dog bite is a potential transmission vector.
