US President Joe Biden is a ‘weak backstabber’

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Joe Biden is a “weak backstabber” following the US President’s reaction to tensions between Australia and France.

It comes after French President Emmanuel Macron was asked by Australian journalists whether Scott Morrison had lied to him when cancelling the Naval Group’s submarines contract at the conclusion of the G20 summit in Rome on Sunday.

“I don’t think, I know,” Mr Macron said.

US President Biden has said he was “under the impression” France was informed long before the AUKUS agreement that the deal “was not going through”.

Mr Bolt said Joe Biden is “throwing Australia under a bus to make things easier for him with France”.

“But really, who could trust Biden anyway to remember anything about how that US deal with Australia went down when he couldn’t even remember Morrison’s name when announcing it,” Mr Bolt said.

“I think Morrison’s critics should explain how he could have handled … that with France better, what’s their advice?

“France was always going to be furious.”
