Prime Minister Scott Morrison has confirmed the Australian government will not be sending any official representatives to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
Mr Morrison announced the move on Wednesday, following on from United States President Joe Biden revealing a diplomatic boycott of the games.
Australia's boycott comes amid increasing tensions between Canberra and Beijing over the last two years, which has seen China launch a series of provocative trade tariffs on Australian exports and issue a list of 14 grievances against the federal government.
"It will come as no surprise that the Australian government will not be sending any official representatives to the forthcoming Winter Games in China," Mr Morrison said.
"For some time people have been very aware that we have been raising a number of issues that have not been received well in China and there's been a disagreement between us on those matters.

Morrison shouldn't have single-handedly pushed for the Wuhan Virus inquiry.
It should have been a collective effort.
I hope you understand where I stand, now.
