Personally I don't have a reason to believe it was motivated by hatred toward a group. This person is both crazy, and a career criminal.

The black dudes splashed all over the media attacking asians all seem to be homeless or mentally ill. I was watching a documentary on this topic and it turns out the vast majority of "hate" Asians are experiencing (probably 99%) are verbal comments. And the origin of these comments are almost all Karens or drunk white men.
