Sarah Palin: Liberals Like AOC Want to ‘Pound, Pound, Pound’ Sex Into People’s Heads
So naturally Fox News on Monday turned to Sarah Palin for her insight into the matter.
Ocasio-Cortez, in response to a tweet from former Trump campaign adviser Steve Cortes that criticized her boyfriend’s socks, had written:
“If Republicans are mad they can’t date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend’s feet. Ya creepy weirdos.”
That, Palin told Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy, was not a good look.
“Look how the liberals, Rachel, want to pound that into the public’s head: advertising who is attracted to who. What people do in… the privacy of their own bedrooms,” the dismayed former vice presidential nominee said.
“All those things that have to do with privacy and sex—the liberals, not the conservatives, are the ones who pound, pound, pound after that. And obviously it’s a tactic so that she doesn’t have to be held accountable.”
I was not sure if this thread belongs in this section or the adult section

Man, I always feel bad when I see Palin these days, she could have gone all the way with a little more experience, McCain really did her a disservice plucking her from relative obscurity before she was ready. Before anyone jumps on me, look at pre 2008 Palin, she likely wasn't who you thought she was.

In March 2011 Palin released a map featuring 20 House Democrats that used crosshairs images to show their districts. Critics suggested at the time that she was inciting violence by using the crosshairs imagery and for later writing on Twitter to her supporters, "'Don't Retreat, Instead - RELOAD!'"
Democrat Gabrielle Gifford was subsequently shot in the head by a crazed shooter and Palin went to extraordinary lengths to try and distance her "call to arms" with the shooting that nearly cost Giffords her life.
Palin has since never apologlised to Gifford. For me that expired her 15 minutes.

The man who shot Giffords was both insane and obsessed with her long before Palin made her map, trying to connect the two has long been a dishonest attack on her and a libel that she's actively suing the NYT for repeating.

The judge said that while there may be considerable evidence that Bennet simply drew an innocent inference, taken in a light most favorable to Palin, “the evidence shows Bennet came up with an angle for the Editorial, ignored the articles brought to his attention that were inconsistent with his angle… and ultimately made the point he set out to make in reckless disregard of the truth.”
At trial, there will likely be attention on newsroom politics, particularly how the op/ed section at the New York Times operates. Before this anti-gun editorial was published, for instance, fellow Times opinion writer Ross Douthat expressed concern to Bennet about his conclusion.
I feel like I've pointed this out to you in the past, but regardless I'm doing so now, so going forward you now know that linking Palin to that shooting is a dishonest smear that you can no longer claim ignorance of.

Even if Palin didn't inspire the shooter, it was still highly irresponsible for her to say such a thing.

Was it irresponsible for Bernie to paint the Republicans as so heartless that their agenda would literally kill people, inspiring one of his supporters to attempt to massacre the Republican congressional baseball team in an attack that actually was completely political?
There was nothing out of the ordinary in anything Palin said, "targeting" districts and "not retreating" are common pieces of martially derived political rhetoric, and there is absolutely no evidence at all that they inspired any violence, same as when other politicians have said them for decades.

Sanders had talked about Republicans killing people with their policies, whereas Palin used language and political picture art where gun violence against Dems was implied. Hardly the same thing.

No, she didn't, and Sanders actually managed to inspire some actual violence, unlike Palin. It's not even the only example, I'm thinking of the guy who shot an employee at the Family Research Council some years back who had the backpack full of Chick fil a sandwiches he planned on stuffing in his victims' mouths, also inspired by apocalyptic Democratic rhetoric.

So, if Republicans use violent rhetoric and imagery it's okay, but if Democrats do, it's a different story?
While shooting anyone is inexcusable, the idea of some homophobic bigot getting Chic-fil-a sandwich after sandwich stuffed down his mouth is pretty funny!

I'm not putting Palin on trial. The events that transpired are now over 10 years old. While there is no direct evidence the shooter was inspired by Palin publishing a map of 20 democrats (including Giffords) each with a gun cross-hairs over their faces, she should have had least had the decency to apologise to Gifford's family. It was sickening act (but of course you always defend these right wing deplorables don't you).
Instead she never apologised but watched how another deplorable Nicholas Sandmann won money from the Washington Post so thought she would try her luck in 2017 in suing the NY times. Remember what happened? they threw her case out of court. Judge Jed Rackhoff threw it out because it was an attack on media free speech.
The current attempt (she is still trying to extract her pound of flesh out of the misery of the Gifford family) she struck it lucky in the appeals court so it;s going to a jury so we'll see what the jury say on Feb 1st.
Palin wanted a lot of stuff not admissible in her litigation that suggests she's hiding things. For example she claims the now 11 year old article caused her mental anguish, but she's been doing the television circuit in recent times including appearing on the masked singer which is counter to her claims.
Going back to 2010 other things Palin is hiding is that her now famous map which included Giffords under gun crosshairs "Don't retreat, instead- RELOAD!" was how Palin introduced the map to her Twitter followers. Days later, a vandal smashed the glass door of Giffords' Tucson office. Giffords' father tells the New York Post that members of the Tea Party "always threatened" his daughter.
Giffords' Tea Party opponent in the 2010 election, Jesse Kelly who was endorsed by Palin, went even further with the violent rhetoric. Kelly's campaign held an event called "Get on Target for Victory in November." Description: "Help remove Gabrielle Giffords from office. Shoot a fully automatic M16 with Jesse Kelly."
Palin is banking on lack of causal/direct evidence the gunman who shot down Rep. Giffords was motivated by her politics. the Giffords shooting should at the very least underscore the fact that Palin and her republican associates use of gun imagery and electoral politics was inappropriate.
That she is even relevant in 2022 is pathetic, she is the worst kind of deplorable and fits in with the trump culture.

Yes, she is a lousy excuse for a human being, and her campaign against Gifford just proves it. Another black mark against Palin is that she doubtlessly led the way for Trump, with her public glorification of her own ignorance and bigotry.

Actually the families of Jared Loughner's shooting victims (including Gifford's family) should counter-sue Palin for trying to make monetary gain from their loss. Palin did issue her "condolences" to Gabby and the other victims but never actually apologised for her and Kelly's use of gun imagery in publicly attacking Gifford. This wasn't lost on thousands of social media users either who called her out as a hypocrite. The NY times wanted to legitimately investigate if Palin and Kelly might have inspired the shooter. According to Gifford's father members of the tea party did ramp up vandalism against office of Gaby Gifford following publication of Palin's crosshair hitlist - her lock and reload list.
My best guess is that Palin would have immediately contacted her lawyers who would have advised not apologise for her innapropriate rhetoric as that would provide the Gifford family and the families of the other 6 victims ammunition to sue her.
