Gov. Sununu: GOP needs to stop vilifying never-Trumpers

Time for a night of the long knives to clean out the party of Trumpites

and are you ready that GOP can be purged from NeverTrumpers..lot of folks are paying keen attention to primaries and wont vote for NeverTrumpers or simply will vote for anyone Trump endorsed. Problem with them is they re hated by MAGA crowd that constitutes majority of GOP base.

America is f****d.

Unless one thing happens.

A band of GOP pols (the Cheneys, the Mitt Romneys, the George Wills, out there) should draft a public statement that serves Trump with following ultimatum:

Demand that Trump give the traditional concession speech, and congradulate Biden for fairly, and lawfully, winning the 2020 election (and thereby renounce Trump's lie that the election was a hoax). And then move on, so we ALL can move on.

Or

The GOP will banish him from he party.

Simple as that.


If Trump obeys and does it democracy is preserved. And Trump is free to run again and campaign again under the GOP banner (as long he doesnt mention the 2020 election). And, at least until 2024, the GOP can function as a political party instead of as a anti democratic junta. Which means America as a whole can keep limping along as a
wounded democracy until - Trump possibly wins back the White House in 2024 (when we will hafta worry about it all over again).

If Trump refuses then he can still run, but only without the GOP infrastructure, and only under his own newly created third party.

I realize that that would probably hurt the GOP more than it would hurt Trump (though it would also hurt trump). But I dont see any alternative.

I THINK that you're saying that "purging the GOP of PRO Trumpers" is "the tail wagging the dog". Its the "GOP Never Trumpers" who are the endangered species. Sadly that seems to be true. Many GOP politicians reportedly realize Trump is threat to democracy (like Ted Cruz) and admit that in private (to thier Dem and GOP never Trump colleagues), but say we "cant run against Trump because of the grassroots MAGA fanaticism".

GOP members can ‘vilify’ me all they want, I will never vote for anyone named ‘Trump’.
