Was she reporting or journalizing?  That is, was she speaking only the facts of the matter, or was she interjecting her own opinions?

Reporting is all we need.  Journalism is all we get.

From the article . . .

Quote:
Choe, a reporter of 20 years, created a photo montage with sound from the march to end his day. In the clips, he included music from the rally that included a song called “We’ll Have Our Home Again.” Although Choe was unfamiliar with the tune, it is allegedly played frequently at Proud Boys rallies and similar gatherings.

“I wanted to simply capture a moment in time, with authentic visuals and sounds. It was clearly misinterpreted by some on-line,” Choe wrote.
He was journalizing, and deserves no sympathy.

Well that makes a change, Normally Asian American reporters are sent to report on Asian hate crimes (black on yellow).

That is the problem; he did not simply report what was happening; he "journalized" a photo montage set to music that is known to be a Proud Boys theme -- he added his own creative thumbprint to a story when he should have just reported the critical facts -- and wrongly called it "Reporting".

All of the journalists I have known felt it both necessary and right to impose their own impressions and opinions on the story, believing that the average citizen would understand the story better.  This is why I have to wade through several versions of the same story to finally learn all of the facts.

But on the up side (for Mr. Choe), I'm sure he'll have a lucrative career at Fox or OAN.
