Why spend it on that when you can, I don't know, spend the money on an addition to your home? Or growing a business? Or a vacation or car? Or whatever these self-important capitalist morons think is a better use of their money bc Taxation is Eeeeeeevil. The government being used by the public as a means of addressing these issues is heretical to the Standard American Capitalist Taxpayer.
(Disclaimer that I say all this as a pro-gun anarcho-socialist. The government is awful but we can still force it to do things that benefit the public.)
Either find a solution and be willing to actually pay taxes for that solution or risk losing your guns to a narrow-sighted Democrat congressional majority. Your choice.
I pay my taxes, but once they are in the hands of politicians I have no say over how the money is spent. The GOP is simply the only substantial party available with which to fight the Democrats. I'm not for sending millions to Ukraine, I'm for using that money to pay armed guards to protect our kids. The Democrats are in office, Biden is okaying all the money being spent. I don't see him writing up any EO's for emergency protection for the kids. It's well within his power to declare a state of emergency.
The Democrats are the ones providing a social safety net, who don't blame poor people for being poor, for supporting civil rights for all - are anti-racist - are anti-homophobe, who are pro-science - don't deny the validity of disease for political gain, and promote common sense gun control that actually would protect our children. That's why I support the Dems.
My grandchild, who lives with me, is gay. Oh, and she's biracial. Science has you boostering until the end of time... (which helps Big Pharma). Feeding the poor is great, now how about protecting the kids in school. It would be interesting to see how much poor Democratic voters really care about all of the stuff you listed if they weren't getting assistance.
Why wouldn't any poor Dems? You're assuming the that right wing talking point that poor people support liberalism only because of the social safety net is true. Why can't they just prefer liberal ideals?
Rejecting science has never been beneficial to anyone. And big pharma? Okay, if you prefer nationalized medicine for everyone, cutting out big pharma, then I'm with you. But I'm certainly not going to throw the baby out with the bathwater, and reject medical science just because pharmaceuticals is run by big business - - a thing fully supported by the political right.
Every Democrat is in favor of protecting children. Hence banning automatic rifles.
I think it's highly commendable you accept your biracial gay granddaughter. There are many conservatives who would tell you you shouldn't. I have to wonder how such persons are able to live without hearts.
