But someone talked her into staying.

That someone was...Martin Luther King Jr..

Lighten up.  Ms. Saldana and Ms. Nichols became friends after Ms. Saldana took over the role of Uhura in the Star Trek reboot.  Losing someone who is both a friend and an inspiration is hard for some people to take.
