The title of this thread should read "Japan Court Declares Same-Sex Marriage Ban Not Unconstitutional".
According to the article, the court upheld the ban on SSM. It also states that "Japan's constitution defines marriage as being based on 'the mutual consent of both sexes'", so I imagine it would need to be changed first before same-sex couples can marry there.
