Texas senator wants to revive school segregation

On Twitter yesterday, when former U.S. President Barack Obama tweeted:

Today, Texas Senator John Cornyn tweeted in reply:

For those who don't know what he's referring to:

- Plessy vs Ferguson (1896)
- Brown vs Board of Education (1954)

I would expect this from Ted Cruz, but not Cornyn.

I thought Cornyn was a decent man but apparently I was very wrong.This is horrible news.Sadly he just won reelection not too ago I thought.

Going backwards fast.

Although in the case of school segregation, conservatives have used many legal tricks to keep US schools largely segregated for 70 years since Brown Vs the Board of education.

There are no good things about Texass

1. Abortion is illegal, no exceptions

2. Marijuana is illegal

3. Public nudity is illegal

4. Medical care for trans people is considered "child abuse"

5. Power grid is barely functionable

6. Right-to-work state

7. A governor who screws up everything he touches, but will blame migrants for said screw-ups.

8. An education system that is, at times, even worse than Mississippi's

9. No measures to mitigate climate change.

10. Cops are terrorists, no different than ISIS

11. Dating is a nightmare, because women here don't fornicate, and will only do missionary because anything else is "sodomy"

12. Abbott is literally committing genocide by allowing the continued use of the death penalty.

13. Prisons are overcrowded because there are too many goddamn laws here. With the overturning of Roe, there will be people possibly serving life sentences for something that is perfectly legal in many other states.

14. The hipster and anarcho-punk subcultures are virtually non-existent.

15. There are still a few dry counties in existence.

16. Too many rednecks and hillbillies--no wonder we can't have gun control

If you look at the student body in inner city schools, you might say it never really ended.

Studies have shown that population tends to self-segregate, to an extent. People mostly prefer to live with others who are like them.

I think you all are missing out on what is going on here.

Obama tweeted one reason for overturning Roe is breaking the precedent is bad.

Cornyn is reminding Obama that breaking a precedent is not always bad, just look back at Brown vs Board of Education breaking the precedent set by Plessy vs Ferguson.

To fight back by any means necessary against an existential threat by people using any means neccessary.

Making assumptions about Cornyn based on the fact he is a white, male, Republican from Texas.
