How Much is Too Much?

Never heard of this happening before... are we in for some anti-coffee laws now?

To be honest, if you do anything in great quantity you shouldn't be overly surprised if you suffer consequences. Same goes for alcohol and other substances.

Fascinating fact: Honore de Balzac (supposedly) died of caffeine poisoning from drinking too much coffee. Too much over the course of a lifetime that is, not just one day.

Caffeine is a stimulant, you can concentrate it. It isn't that difficult for a child to OD on it. Any stimulant in high enough doses could cause heart problems.

Interestingly coffee makes me drowsy.

Coffee makes me drowsy or sick and headachey depending on how much I have.

I wasnt sure why this story ended up on the news , its like reporting on kids getting drunk - if she didnt know caffeine was going to do that she obviously hasnt paid any attention to anything for the duration of her life.

Booze, Caffeine you name it everything in excess will make you ill nicotine will kill you if you have enough of it fast enough.

I am almost completely intolerant to caffiene. I haven't had it for years because even one chocolate bar or cup of coffee caused me to go into violent convulsions and throw up...

Highly unlikely, as caffeine does not stay in your body and build up to toxic levels, like, say, arsenic or mercury does.

Only 7 cups? She must be one of those "sensitive to caffeine" people referred to by the warning labels on energy drinks...

I once drank too much caffienne when i was at college my dorm room was on the third floor and i ran up the stairs my heart was racing and had palpitations and felt like i was going to pass-out. I wasn't eating that day in order to lose weight even thought i didn't really need to and all i drank was coffee and iced tea.
