^Just that, really.

Remember to take photo ID to vote in your council elections if you have them this week.

I voted via postal vote so I can't give you advice what to do if you're turned away with 'invalid ID' however.

Good luck! Let me know how you get on!

Also, if you want to get your Tory candidate out of your council, check here for the best candidate to stop them:

What are you voting on, Council Elections?

No elections here.

Yes. There are dozens of elections in England. It'll be a good test of the new photo ID system that we weren't told about.

Oops! I meant, the system that the government spent a lot of money publicising to ensure that no one would accidentally get disenfranchised...NOT!

I only have a passport because I don't drive, and the PASScard people scammed me. They said my photo wasn't to standard (it's my passport photo lol) and then kept the money and wouldn't let me resubmit :skull: .

yes do it! And don't forget your photo ID! Or you won't be able to vote.

It sickens me when the turn out for elections is 38% or something low like that. People fought for their right to vote. If we aren't careful, it will be restricted to men over 30 who are landowners again...

What jerks.

It took us ages to get our daughter's photo through their system.

Another way to stop people voting eh.

What? Robbing bastards. Wasn't PASScard run by the post office, can you go to a local branch and go postal :ninja:

Labour voters are less likely to have photo ID. Cynical move by the Tories imo.

^^^ Haha, I see what you did there.

I guess I could, but we only have one post office left for the whole city. It's inside WHSmith and there's only ever one person manning the operation - self service, passports etc., travel money, regular post. One time I had to post a parcel to China and the guy at the front of the queue was getting that service where they help you go through your whole passport application. I already had paid for and all the customs done and everything, I just needed them to check the weight and stamp the customs thingy. I think the queue was 40 minutes? Maybe I'm still in the queue and my whole life since then has been an elaborate daydream...

If you use the self checkout btw, the post office person still has to come and take the parcel off you, so if they're dealing with the queue (which they always are), there is zero advantage to using self-service. I wouldn't have the heart to go nuts at them for the PASScard lol, their spirits already look so broken.

Oh don't  , I did eBay for 10 years and estimate a third of that 10 years was standing in a post office queue :pale:

Well, at least it will tackle a problem that is virtually non-existent in the UK - personation

^^ haha sorry, didn't mean to give you flashbacks.

Scan and drop is where it's at for ebaying imo.
Last week I sent a parcel back via an InPost locker, and I didn't even have to put a label on it 8O . We are living in the future now.
