Shooting in Fort Worth leaves at least 3 dead and 8 others wounded
Ten of the victims are adults and one a minor, according to a news release from the Fort Worth Police Department’s homicide unit.
Hours after the tragedy, the neighborhood held its Fourth of July parade on the same street where the shooting occurred, with parade-goers waving at children on colorful floats and riders on horseback.
Monday night, officers discovered multiple people shot in a parking lot in the Horne Street area of the Como neighborhood, police said. Several victims were brought to local hospitals by private vehicles, while others were transported by ambulance, authorities said. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s too early to tell if the shooting was gang related, a domestic dispute, or something else, police said.
Detectives have yet to identify any suspects, Fort Worth police said in a news release Tuesday afternoon. Investigators believe “none of the injured were suspects in the shooting,” according to the release.
Police said “several unknown males were reported to have started firing into the crowd indiscriminately and then fled the scene.”
There was a large crowd in the neighborhood when police responded, Murray said.
“Traditionally, the Como neighborhood, July 3 is their big celebration,” said Murray. The sound of fireworks could occasionally be heard in the background as he spoke to reporters.
They have their parade, and July 3 in the evening, they gather up as a neighborhood and come together,” he said.

2 suspects arrested in connection to Como neighborhood mass shooting
Christopher Redic, 20, and Brandon Williams, 19, both of Fort Worth, were arrested Friday. Both men have been charged with murder.
The suspects reportedly started firing into a crowd of hundreds of people before they fled the scene. Three victims died and eight victims have been hospitalized in unknown conditions.
Cynthia Santos, 22, Gabriella Navarrete, 18, and Paul Willis, 18, are identified as the three victims who were fatally shot.
The Chief also said it is his understanding that "immediately prior to the shots, there was some type of altercation ... I don't know specifically who they were shooting at but there was a potential that altercation is what caused that violence to occur."
Noakes said Friday that FWPD believes the shooting was gang-related and "multiple departments worked the case around the clock."

You could save time by making a thread for mass shootings of the current year and update it when a new shooting occurs or when new information about a previous shooting is released.

I think that would further desensitize people to the seriousness of each incident.

Bit surprised I haven't seen major news headlines with travel advisories against travelling to the USA, whether from Canada, Mexico, or any other country. Obviously it isn't a safe country to be in when there are multiple mass shootings daily.
Someone's getting pressured by the USA not to publish things like that.. yet one mass shooting at a resort in Mexico and all of the sudden there's a nation wide travel advisory not to go there. Something's fishy.

That is my reasoning for making most incidents separate threads. As is there are many mass shootings I do not post about because it would take time from other topics and my life.
