Sounds like election engineering lip service BS based on the several carve outs that allow business to continue as usual on the taxpayers' dime.

Yesterday on my way to an address in Burnaby, google maps took me on a detour through streets I'd never driven on before.. was quite the tour of all the oil holding facilities hidden in the woods + a lot of construction activity going on for the trans mountain pipeline expansion. As much as Vancouver has the highest adoption of EV's in Canada and is the birthplace of Greenpeace, we're still expanding fossil fuel industry stuff here.. LNG fracking, liquification, and shipping, too.

Too little is being done by almost everyone to head off absolute catastrophe, especially those in developed countries that consume a lot of energy. I predict we're in for a very bumpy ride of mass migration due to drought/heat, and ensuing wars for fresh water and food. It will probably result in me having to buy ever smaller surf kites in the years ahead as the temperature rises and thermal wind speeds pick up.
