I lived in Minneapolis near the U of Minnesota where they do lots of sexual reassignment surgery and it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars.

They had to live as their opposite gender for a year while preparing for surgery, so I met a lot of people in various stages of pre and post operative surgery. I did have a real prejudice against a man changing to a woman because they didn't have to suffer the menstrual cycles and earning less than a man. They just got the good stuff of being a woman. I don't feel like that much any more, though, they didn't have it easy feeling they were in the wrong body all those years either.

Goody for me! I have relinquished a prejudice!! Goody for them, they don't have to pay!

I find that a good victory!

Merle

You could try it out for awhile then go back a second time and get it reversed if you were not happy.

Had mine done here on the NHS no problem. (M to F)

Don't know what there like in the other direction but it took me 7 years and then it happens :)

Surgery completed 1999, I would rather die than have it reversed!
