He was an extraordinarily brave man. I didn't agree with all of his politics, but anyone prepared to stand up to the murderous Putin regime deserves at least our respect.

Hopefully, they've opened a whole new circle for Putin, and they can toss Hitler and Stalin down there with him.

I wonder what the Russian government (especially Putin) considers "Natural Causes" when someone dies.

I guess there wasn’t a window available in a tall building.

No stairways, either.

It may be safe to assume that the prison had only ground-floor accommodations -- no cellars or upper stories.

Biden administration to impose major sanctions to hold Russia accountable for Navalny's death

Quote:
Biden confirmed the forthcoming package to reporters before leaving for a campaign trip to the West Coast. “What I came to tell you was we’d be announcing sanctions on Russia. We’ll have a major package announced on Friday,” he said.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan said at a briefing with reporters Tuesday that "it will be a substantial package covering a range of different elements of the Russian defense industrial base, and sources of revenue for the Russian economy that power Russia’s war machine, that power Russia’s aggression and that power Russia’s repression."

National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, who first revealed the new sanctions earlier Tuesday, said that the announcement is also in response to Russia's continued aggression in Ukraine, which began nearly two years ago. He stressed that one of the most powerful actions the U.S. can take to stand up to Russian President Vladimir Putin is for Congress to pass an emergency spending bill that would provide aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwa

I'm worried that if Trump is re-elected, he'll use the same tactics Putin does to silence his critics.

We could all share Navalny's fate if Biden doesn't win.

Even Putin only goes after critics who have an impact. You should be fine if you are just a regular person, even if you are a critic.

But even if Trump doesn't send his SS troopers to make an arrest, critics still could face violence at the hands of Trump cultists, who might never face justice for their devotion to their Dear Leader.

I fear historians will look back to the 2020's and call it the Age of the Strong Man.
