Time to ban Christianity.

Conservatives don't care about keeping people "safe", only about keeping them "pure".

Good luck with that, but you'll need to throw the Constitution out in order to achieve it.

I want to think Texas is actually a purple state, but Abbott and Co. suppress the vote in their favor, and in the 2022 gubernatorial election, people voted for him again despite the fact that 200+ people *froze to death* under his watch, and three major mass shootings (Santa Fe, El Paso and Uvalde), because they were scared that his opponent (Beto O'Rourke) was going to take their guns.

Texas only cares about shoving purity culture down people's throats, and nothing else.

Is that meant to be a case for denying them constitutional rights or for just getting rid of it entirely?

Don't become the thing you're trying to fight, especially when it means conceding the moral high ground. If you're fine with throwing out the Constitution than how can you criticize the fascists for ignoring it, bypassing it and/or getting rid of it themselves?

I will never give up my Christian faith even if it does become a crime. Christians and everyone has a constitutional right to freedom of religion.

This law was never about "protecting children". It was clearly a stepping stone to banning porn outright (which is part of Project 2025), and establishing a theocracy.

Not to mention that hackers could steal the personal info that people are now required to provide.

With that it mind, why would you prefer to get distracted by the sidequest of banning Christianity when you could focus on getting rid of this terrible law?

I don't see how banning Christianity does anything to get rid of this law forcing you to use a VPN to access porn, but maybe you can explain it better than you have so far.

If the US were a fully secular or atheist nation, this law wouldn't have seen the light of day.

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.

Yes, in some alternate universe where the US was entirely different, you'd get different laws passed.

However, alternate reality Americas aren't relevant to the discussion.

How do you plan to get the political willpower to ban Christianity, and how will that sidequest result in getting this law revoked?

It sure seems like picking a massive fight that only serves as a distraction from the fight you're actually hoping to win.

Why not fight the winnable fight you're hoping to win instead of the unwinnable fight that you believe will somehow undo this law?

Yes, makes sense, obstinance is another conservative value.
