Rise of Far right

In response to the immigration crisis in Europe, is an associated growth in far right groups.
Ukraine, Hungary and Poland have some of the world's harshest border control and have promoted the growth of far-right militia such as these armed Polish skinheads patrolling their border with Germany.


Both Poland and Hungary has previously scoffed at claims from Indian and African foreign nationals escaping the Ukraine war that armed gangs were roaming the border hunting men, women and children. the above video shows so called peoples militia patrolling the border are actually skinhead nationalists.

the immigrant crisis has directly spurred far right movements across western Europe as well.

Freedom party in Austria
AfD in Germany (Elon Musk's a big supporter)
Golden Dawn in Greece

It would seem in terms of the immigrant crisis, the response may be worse than the actual crisis.

^^^ Yes and Farage in the UK. As of now there is even a prospect of Nigel Farage being elected as a future prime minister.

Yeah and as soon as Farage gets in I'm going to have my human rights taken away. Why does everyone want their human rights sacrificed just for the sake of stopping the immigrants? Well I think I'll put an end to my life before being f*****g homeless, people have no idea how severely anxious I am of that and how ill it's actually making me.

^^^ People don't think straight. Many thousands voted for trump knew there was a good chance members of their own extended family and/or community will be deported.

Basically a big goal of far right parties is to have brownshirts smashing into homes and throwing people of colour into prison before deportation. Remember that what voters want electing far right candidates.

ICE arrested Arpineh Masihi, a loyal MAGA supporter, mother of 4. Despite her arrest and incarceration she still loves trump.

People who follow MAGA see trump as an extension of their own identity and by extension their self. I think maybe this sense of identity is so strongly internalised that even when trump betrays them (like with trump university or scamming MAGA donors) they are unable to shift their beliefs because it's too strongly intertwined with their identity and sense of self.

If we're going back to 1825 why don't they bring back black slavery while they're at it.

It occurs to me that the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel occurred almost exactly one century after the Putsch in Munich. This should give us reason to think about the fact that public expressions of Antisemitism have again become tolerated if not yet exactly fashionable. This is part and parcel of a return to Fascism. In 1923 Hitler's followers were considered rabble but in a few years they became the political élite. Makes me almost glad I don't have that many more years left on Earth.

I thought anything tragic that went on 100 years ago was down to lack of knowledge. Back then society thought all non-white people were useless, all people with a mental disorder were "ret*d" or "possessed", all people of certain religions were a danger, all homosexual people were bad, women had less rights than men, etc etc. We've come a long, long way from then and in modern times all of that BS has been debunked in western societies and we all have a much better knowledge and awareness of diversity, including medical knowledge, even though there's still bigotry but that's just humans for you.

Prison camps, torture devices and black slavery is history and we've all learnt from it.

But I guess I'm stupid for posting this because it's only asking for people to respond with a load of scary stuff like "no, you're wrong, Trump and Farage are going to kill you if you're not white, rich, or NT. I'm so glad I'm old and don't have a diagnosis, I'm marked as safe, you're not, ha!"

Hopefully the people who voted for the Big Beautiful Bill will be voted out of office. Our next opportunity is the midterm elections. We shouldn't wait for the provisions of the BBB to take effect before voting them out of office.

The far right's always been with us, whether it was back in the days of segregation when the KKK was riding high, or when the Klan and Neo-Nazis were acquitted for murdering American Communist Party members during a demonstration. There's always been an ugly side to American culture that we don't want to acknowledge.

I had a teacher that was put in an internment camp when he was a a very young kid. It wasn't that long ago.

^^^ Judging from social media this is a dilemma facing all western countries. Countries traditionally considered progressive are shifting right on immigration and social inclusion.

Many native peoples in Africa, Caribbean and Pacific are also showing intolerance toward people perceived immigrants. An example is Indians have lived in the Malay peninsula and Burma for centuries have been deemed as "outsiders" and are treated as 2nd class citizens.
