The kids school attendance rate was nearly 100%, up from 65%, after their parents were charged  Gee, I'm sure the parents made sure to send them to school because it was in their children's best interest, aren't you?

Further proof that people should have to pass a test in order to be allowed to have children.

My parents were neglectful and incompetent. Twice, myself and my siblings were removed from the home, only to be returned again. I'm still in therapy because of it.

No.

Yes. Though the test would need to be open to many different things.

That's better than my situation. i told about my mom's physical abuse - as a result I was sent to a mental hospital where I was required to speak regularly with her. Then child services didn't investiage for three months, during the entire time which my mom was telling me how my borthers and sisters would have to go live in separate homes with complete strangers and it would be all my fault. And when they finally did visit, my mom was within hearing the distance the entire time the lady interviewed me.

That's awful. Sorry you went through that.

Tod (Keanu Reaves) in the 1989 Steve Martin movie Parenthood: You know, Mrs. Buckman, you need a license to buy a dog, to drive a car - hell, you even need a license to catch a fish. But they'll let any butt-reaming a**hole be a father.

Nuff said.
