Cops: Kid killed parents he couldn't please

Interesting use of creativity in this situation...

When I was in the secure hospital there was someone on the same ward as me, he couldn't have been more than eighteen. He'd killed his father, mother and kid sister because spaghetti had been promised for the evening meal but he found that beans were being served instead. Cases like this and the one above fortunately do not come along very often.

I expect that the kid will spend a long time behind bars.

Of course not everyone cares how much emotional abuse it takes to make a child want to kill his parents. Whoever just slaps a label on him and has done with it is a jackass.

I don't know about that; I've seen kids that go into an absolute rage and are so self-involved.

Don't blame him. It can f**k you up mentally. Parents don't understand how harsh their criticism can be to a child.

How do they get that way?

One way to make a person self-involved is to try to hold them to unrealistic standards.

Never thought I'd say this, but I agree.

There was a guy in our jail who's since went to prison--- he was an adult, but it sorta fits this... he was told throughout his life that he was fat and useless ( he weighed over 400 lbs.). The day came when his dad came home and told him to stop being a fat lazy slob and get a job. The guy apparently lost it, got a gun and killed the father. He wasn't a bad inmate, but he knew he was going to prison. He'd simply been ridiculed for a long time and one day it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I don't blame him.
Instead of sending him to prison, why not send him to a secure state-run institution where he can get the help that he needs?

I agree. The article does hint along those lines:

Useless waster scum. He should be locked up for at least 30 years or given the death penalty when he turns 18.

Some might say that the people who turned him into waster scum should be killed.

I remember my mother abandoning kindness, as a conscious decision, with her mouth open and that thought coming out all over me, in favor of "more effective" methods. She considered violence to be more effective than kindness. This seems to be a problem with society in general.

Mm. I understand your anger. I have been the subject of maternal abuse as had my aspie dad but neither of us wanted "revenge" on our parents. I just wanted to get the hell away from her Do I think sometimes that my mother really should get some comeuppance? Yeah, but I despise imposition of pain on other people so I wouldn't like it if she were the recipient of some physical attack. I do enjoy the all too brief times when someone sees right through her though they don't bother to inflict anything on her.

I think that these incidents of killing the abuser just make me think that that was not the smartest way of handling it.

If only it were mere revenge.

It it were about revenge I could have let it go a long time ago. It's about being conditioned to patterns of behavior that are violent and that attract violence. It's about your own brain actually shutting down when you try to put it to creative work. Demons are put inside your head that operate without your consent, on their own, often even without your knowledge. All of this "talk it through" therapy reaches its limits in a few weeks and practically no one knows how to advance it any further, or if they know of the techniques they have contempt for them, contempt that may be their own demons at work. They just toss it off as "new age nonsense." Their own technique comes from a quack who had his doctor help him to commit suicide by cocaine overdose. You may have heard of him.

It's about a society that sees dysfunctional as the new functional.
