Saw earlier this evening where she lost and was fined something like $220,000.00!

Why didn't the recording industry ever go after all of us folks who copied music onto cassettes and swapped them out?

How about all the people who traded albums or loaned them out?

Single mother Jammie Thomas fined $220,000 for music file sharing

She rolled the dice and lost bigtime... her defense was that they couldn't prove she was the person at the keyboard downloading the songs... the jury decided they didn't need to prove who was at the keys, she was the one responsible for the computer regardless of who operated it...

she paid more in legal fees than the company asked her to pay to settle the case, but she decided to make a stand... moral of the story: If you get caught uploading files, pay the fee and chalk it up to experience...
