And then the burglar complains to the police that he was forced to clean up the mess he made! The police said anyone else would have probably shot him. IMO, they should have. But I like their choice, too.

lol that not cruel it's practical time management. He wasn't being hostile enough to shoot after he surrendered so they thought they'd keep him busy while the cops came.
