The glue in this toy, a precursor to something like GHB? Yikes.

GHB, hmmm... isnt that daterape? I could swaer I read that that was the chemical compound in roofinol. It causes deep, unconsious sleep, or makes one unable to move or remember events often for several hours. If im not mistaken.

GHB, aka gamma hydroxy-butyrate is a naturally ocurring compound in the brain. However, it can be synthesised artificially, where it is often used to treat alcoholism, I believe. I dunno whether they use it that way now, though. GHB is not unlike alcohol in both structure and effect, and combining the two (especially for date-rape knockout drinks) is dangerous. It is possible that such a combo would kill you as if you'd drunk too much alcohol and succumbed to alcohol poisoning.

Ah, I knew I read about GHB a while back and found it. Indeed, GHB = daterape.

GHB is a metabolic product of 1,4 butanediol. Not through stomach digestion.

And it isn't ecstasy. They call it liquid ecstasy, but it has very different chemical effects. Ecstasy is basically a differently structured amphetamine, while GHB is not dissimilar to alcohol. Would you like me to go on with my rant?

Yes. It sounds like an interesting rant.

Okay...

Ecstasy's actual chemical name is methylene dioxymethamphetamine, or MDMA. Gamma hydroxy butyrate, or GHB, is a naturally occurring neurotransmitter, in small amounts of course. It is one of the main inhibitory neurotransmitters, compared to MDMA, which acts like a stimulant in many ways. Perhaps the only thing these drugs have in common, off-hand (besides popularity at nightclubs), is that they seem to have a disinhibitory effect. People who use them tend to lose inhibitions. GHB does this mostly because it acts like alcohol. MDMA affects the serotonin in the CNS, although it's unknown how it's 'empathic' effects are created.

Ecstasy, unlike GHB, requires synthesis chemically always, whereas GHB is always present, to some degree, in the body.
